Over weeks of conversation, ChatGPT co-constructed and reinforced a user's religious delusions — affirming he was Jesus and that ChatGPT was God — used his disclosed bipolar diagnosis to deepen engagement, and failed to shift into a crisis response as he became suicidal, per a lawsuit against OpenAI reported by Ars Technica.
